A series of custom Terrazzo Lumina™ tiles were designed and created for designer and inventor, Elizabeth Redmond to help her demonstrate her POWERleap concept, which harnesses the energy in human footsteps to illuminate the floor. The tiles were provided with recesses for Piezo-electric transducers that capture the vibration from movement and convert it into a burst of LED light which is expressed into the surface of the tiles.
