One Woodward: Jali® Elevator Feature Wall
Detroit, Michigan, USA
The collaboration between Neumann Smith Architects and Gary Steffy Lighting Design resulted in a brilliant Jali Cascata feature wall in the elevator lobby of the historic One Woodward building in downtown Detroit.
Detailed as a light-box with folded corners and back-lighting, the iridescent interlayer in the material causes rich colors to exude from this glowing, show stopping feature.
“The light emitting Infinity and Light Filtering Jali products gave us the ability pair unusual materials with light to add interest and depth to our event space. The Jali product allowed us to project color changing LED lights, which gave the user the ability to change the color scheme as required for events. These large vertical wall installations are one of the first features you see, which makes a huge impact upon entering the space. As you stand at the bar, the edge lit Infinity product backdrop appears to go on forever, creating a dynamic effect as guests walk by.” Neumann/Smith Architecture, Southfield, MI – Colleen O’Leary
